Our Vision-

The Noah’s Ark Children’s Grief Support Programme has as its mission the aim to offer to the community in Worcestershire and surrounding area a safe and sound service of help to children, young people, and their families affected by the death of someone close to them.

This service, which offers help in a variety of ways and according to individual need, is based upon the philosophy that loss through bereavement affects everyone at some time in their life. It should therefore be responded to on a communal level, with each of us offering help to one another within the community, and especially to children and young people who may have particular emotional, spiritual and physical needs at such a difficult time.

The Noah’s Ark mission is to meet these aims both by helping children and families directly, and also by offering consultation, training and raising awareness within the community.

Programmes and Activities-

We provide grief support on a 1:1 basis, leading to participation in a residential family weekend which takes place at the Malvern Hills Outdoor Centre. Here, children have an opportunity to meet others who have been bereaved, thereby helping them to feel less different and alone. They can be heard, by providing an opportunity to express themselves in a safe and supportive environment, and can honour their memories of the person who has died. In addition, our hope is that they will appreciate that it is perfectly acceptable to continue to have some fun in their lives.
